This sapphire cabochon is not milky. It shows a commercial dark-blue. On direct light it is translucent, almost transparent. A veil appears at the base of the stone, it is visible gemstone face up on the left part on the top of the sapphire on the picture.

  The bottom of this stone is flat which is always desirable in cabochon so you don't need to pay for a heavy bottom, this stone will be easy to set.
